On Monday, November 12th, our production of The Aliens was announced the winner for Outstanding Ensemble Production at the Berkshire Theatre Awards ceremony. In an article outlining the awards and their recipients, The Westfield News listed Artistic Director Daniel Kramer as a “trailblazer,” describing his directing as having “helped these three extraordinary actors find balance and nuance.” In separate articles appearing in Berkshire On Stage, Berkshire Awards critic Macey Levin named The Aliens as a favorite production of 2018, and Berkshire On Stage’s authors noted that this season’s awards demonstrate “the commitment of regional theatres to presenting new and diverse work. Women and minorities were well represented among the nominees and the winners in all categories.” An accomplishment well in keeping with Chester Theatre’s own priorities to be sure.
