THE WILD BRIDE at St Ann’s Warehouse: CTC’s First Annual New York Theatre Tour!

This winter, in response to requests over the years from our dedicated CTC community, we are launching a New York City Theatre Tour program! The New York City Theatre Tour is an affordable, less time intensive complement to our London and Dublin Theatre Tours. With no need to pack a bag or find your passport, this day-long tour is a great entry point for those curious about the experience of our popular international theatre tours, or for those simply desiring to experience our signature, thoughtful approach to theatre-viewing this winter.

With the New York City Theatre Tour, you will experience the intellectual rigor and fun of a theatre trip led by CTC Artistic Director Byam Stevens, connect with fellow CTC community members, and get yourself “warmed up” for our upcoming 2013 summer season!

For our inaugural New York City Theatre Tour, we will be traveling to see THE WILD BRIDE at Brooklyn’s St Ann’s Warehouse. Kneehigh, the innovative theatre company from Cornwall that created the Tony Award-nominated BRIEF ENCOUNTER, returns to New York with this smash hit production.

ABOUT ‘THE WILD BRIDE’

THE WILD BRIDE, adapted and directed by Oliver Award nominated director Emma Rice from a story by the Brothers Grimm, was the hit of CTC’s 2011 Dublin Tour. An irreverent romance with a humorous heart and a scary edge, THE WILD BRIDE is a uniquely witty and dynamic combination of acting, singing, music and dance that tells the timeless tale of a girl whose father is tricked into selling her to the devil. Thus begins her journey to womanhood, an enchanted and epic voyage of discovery, loss, healing, hope, and love. Imaginative, theatrical, enchanting, and unforgettable!

“Exhilarating …A feast of timeless story, irresistible music and wildly imaginative theatricality…What starts in an enchanted, bluesy folktale world dips into creepy nightmare terrain and sails aloft on wings of grit, resolution and fantasy.”
